Texas Lawyer has two articles this week regarding fee disputes involving Big-Law firms. The first involves a suit in which Houston-based Beirne, Maynard & Parsons sued TIG Insurance Co. and Riverstone Claims Management for $1.2 million in unpaid legal fees for defending U.S. Silica in silicosis litigation. The second involves McAfee Inc., a Santa Clara, CA anti-virus software maker, suing Big-Law firm Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale and Door to recover $12 million in legal fees spent on WilmerHale's representation of former McAfee CFO Prabhat Goyal.
